About me

I am a teacher and instructor through and through - with my whole heart and soul.
You know how there are things in life that you do and it gives you energy even if you were dead tired before?  Doing and teaching agility has been that one thing for me for years now.

I'm an special education teacher by profession; as my full-time job, I work with children with special needs. I find it an inspiring job that has taught me there are multiple approaches and strategies to overcome a single problem. Over the years, I have been able to successfully transfer this knowledge over to dog training too.

Dogs entered my life in 2009 when I got my first border collie named Nelly. I always say that she opened the doors to my future. With her, we first started SAR work, where I learned a tonne about dogs' reactions, instincts, problem-solving abilities and how they deal with frustrations. A few years later, in 2012, I started taking agility lessons and it soon became my biggest passion.

Nelly was a dream dog to start agility with – she was smart, driven and always ready to overlook my mistakes and try again. In 2015 I started competing with my younger border collie Bay – she was a crazy fast and determined little gangster, who always knew better. She made me question so many training methods known to me, forced me to think outside of the box, and showed me that my timing and coordination skills on the agility course sucked. She was a tough teacher and showed me every single mistake I made in training. But thanks to her, my knowledge grew immensely. In 2020 I started competing with Bay's daughter Weezy. The complete opposite of her mother and a dog with whom I really realized the importance of details, precision, lines and connection.

I became an agility instructor in our local dog club in 2015 and I like to think that I have been evolving as a handler, and even more as an instructor, ever since. When it comes to training agility I believe strong foundations are the key to success and that little things make a big difference. I started having seminars abroad in 2016 and through countless seminars, training dogs and with the help of my outstanding students I have learned that foundations truly are king.

Over the years I have also competed in countless international competitions and, together with my dogs, achieved some nice results. I have been a member of the Slovenian national agility team for EO and/or AWC since 2016.
